It's been an exciting period at Bicycle Buyer. Most pleasing has been the experience of handing dream bikes to customers. For many, this handover is a significant moment: months (sometimes years!) of research on the Internet, testing bikes, convincing partners of the need for a gorgeous stead...we're very fortunate to be helping people get their dream bike.
The process for our customers to buy a high performing frame is not taken lightly by us. We are conscious of constantly improving your experience. From the moment you first make contact, right through to the after purchase (and well beyond!).
A very critical step to ensuring happy customers is in how we select products. For the high-end products we introduce to Australia and New Zealand, we first ensure the people behind the brands are passionate, have sound values, are ethical and driven by the challenge to produce fine items for the cycling community.
Two recent examples show how lucky we are to have outstanding partners. The first was during our time with Michael and Linda (owners of Irwin Cycling) in Taiwan. In particular we spent time visiting factories with Michael. We already knew his passion for all things wheels - we've seen the glint in his eye when his engineering-trained mind fires to reflect on braking surfaces, or how the size of bearings impacts hub lifespan and overall wheel weight.
What was important on this trip was to see how Michael interacted with people. We're pleased to say he passed with flying colours. The respect he showed to his staff, business partners, elderly pedestrians walking in front of us and even baristas making our morning coffee. To us, these interactions are strong signals for how he will respect us and ultimately the good people riding Irwin products.
The second example comes from Matt, Gianni and Antonio from DeAnima. Our initial relationship started when we came across a DeAnima, test rode and then learned of the history of the three owners. We knew they could build outstanding pieces of machinery that look perfecto!
During our first Skype conference we wanted to delve into how they do business. This was immediately answered by Matt when he stated that its about the passion and also keeping one's word. Two things that spoke volumes for us and again translate to experiences for our clients. Passion for cycling and keeping ones word...very important for us, very important for you.
